In this episode of Money Matters, I spoke with Rutuja. On a salary of around ₹23,000 a month, she has no loans, supports her younger sister's education, has taken insurance for herself and her sister, and sets aside ₹2,000 every single month to invest in her own learning. At an age when most people are still figuring out their first paycheck, she's already running a quietly disciplined, thoughtful financial life.
So this conversation wasn't about rescue – it was about building. We mapped out a simple three-bucket investment plan for her surplus and worked through her three real goals for the next five years: building a small house on her family's land, contributing to her own wedding, and creating a corpus that gives her parents a monthly income once she's married. I also share why she shouldn't rush into term insurance just yet, and why a health cover for her parents matters more right now.
