A few weeks ago, while hiking around Cerro Gordo, I noticed a small crack in the ground. It looked like another short prospect – until I started digging.

That opening led to six separate trips underground, hundreds of feet of rope, some of the most dangerous ground I’ve ever crossed, and an enormous section of the mine that may have been sealed for nearly a century.

Inside, I found old carbide lamps, dynamite boxes, ore sacks, newspapers dating from 1897 and 1926, a miner’s hat, blasting caps, and silver still visible in the walls. More importantly, I finally reached the Union Chimney, one of the two great ore bodies that made Cerro Gordo California’s largest silver mine.

After six years of exploring this mountain, this may be my favorite discovery yet.

We caught everything from baby pufferfish, blue crabs, slippery wrasse, lane snapper, mangrove snapper, and yellow striped grunts, to more rare finds like a flame cardinalfish, parrotfish, and even a venomous scorpionfish. As the day turned into night, the catches only got crazier… And the craziest fish we catch we will bring home to one of the warehouse ponds!

About a year ago I discovered a strange structure sat on a remote mountain in Turkey using Satellite Imagery from Google Earth. Ever since I first saw it I was intrigued by the strange shape of it; I'd never seen a structure like it before.

Curious to find out what it could be I decided to head out on an epic hiking adventure with Ash. It took us multiple days of hiking and wild camping but finally we reached and explored this strange structure. However, what we found while out in this remote mountain range was nothing we could have ever expected.

Hidden out here is an ancient mystery that to this day hasn't been solved and we found so much not just hidden above ground but also underground!
